A Spotlight on Small Businesses and Tariffs
At Titin, we’re proud to share that our story was recently featured on Boston 25 News, highlighting the challenges — and resilience — of small businesses facing new U.S. tariffs on imported goods.
Daniel Danes Shares Titin’s Journey
Our founder, Daniel Danes, spoke about the reality of bringing authentic single-origin extra virgin olive oil from Jaén, Spain directly to U.S. customers. With more than 90% of the olive oil consumed in the U.S. imported, tariffs have a direct impact on prices.
Adapting to Rising Tariffs
“At the beginning it was kind of crazy, because it was 50%, then 40%, then 30%, and in the end, 15%,” Daniel explained.
“We weren’t sure Titin would be able to survive at some of those higher levels, but now we think we can, with a modest price increase.”
Commitment to Quality and Authenticity
Despite these challenges, Titin remains committed to delivering premium quality olive oil with full transparency, from our groves in Spain to your table. While tariffs have forced us — and many small businesses — to rethink business models, we believe that quality and authenticity should never be compromised.
